With almost 4 days of beautiful weather, the 35th Annual Cruisin Ocean City was a huge success. This nationally recognized event attracts more than 3,000 customs, hot rods, street machines, classics and more from 23 states, as far west as California, as far north as Maine and as far south as Florida plus participants cruised down from Canada . The epicenter of the event was the beachside Inlet Parking Lot with activities and car shows at businesses all around town.
Special guests at Cruisin 2025 were television star Avery Shoaf from the hit show “Rust Valley Restorers” and WWE Hall of Famer and World Heavyweight Champion Sgt. Slaughter. Spectators enjoyed getting the chance to meet and greet both!
Taking the stage during Cruisin was Micky Dolenz! This show was an incredible evening of songs and stories with Micky Dolenz of The Monkees!
Friday morning cars cruised over to Jay’s Café for the Coffee with Cops event. According to the Ocean City Police Department this was by far the best turn out! This was also a great chance for participants to get to meet the new Chief of Police Raymond Austin and talk with Mayor Rick Meehan who was in attendance.
Friday night the 10th Annual Pin Up Contest took place at Blu Crabhouse. Taking home the title of Miss Cruisin Pin Up was Stacey Firecracker from Glenn Rock PA!
On Saturday afternoon the Pedal Car Show took place in the Inlet Parking lot with lots of little cruisers showing off their pedal cars. Winning top awards were Zoey and Adley from Westminster MD in their pink cruiser and 4th generation fire truck!
Saturday night at Trimper’s the Neon Light Car Show took place. Those walking along the boardwalk could enjoy the event. Boy Scout Troup 261 was on site for the “Dollar Makes a Difference Car Show” where spectators could vote for their favorite vehicle with monetary donations. Close to $1,000 was raised for the Boy Scouts!
Some of the country’s top national names were on display at Manufacturers Midway located at the Inlet Parking Lot including Advance Auto Parts, Advantage Lifts, AMSOIL, Bruno’s Classic Muscle, Cabela’s, Chevy Performance, Classic Auto Mall, Edelbrock, Erin’s Way, Euroshine USA, Gateway Classic Cars, Halo Lifts, Morton’s Towing, National Parts Depot, OPTIMA, Southern Rod & Parts and more. There was also a Swap Meet at the 49th street location and indoor vendors at the Outlets Ocean City in West Ocean City selling automotive products, arts & crafts and specialty items.
Additional Cruisin Ocean City highlights were the special Boardwalk Parades that took place Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings. Participants were able to drive along the historic ocean city boardwalk while spectators relaxed on the benches and enjoyed watching the cars cruise by.
On Sunday the Grand Finale Awards took place at the Beachside Inlet. Prior to the awards the charity banner auction took place, and with donations from the event along with the Twisted Rodz Car Club over $3,000 was raised for a local family and school outdoor learning center. Additionally the Cruisin scholarships were awarded to Quinton Ashman from Dagsboro DE, Dylan Crandell from Lothian MD, Jaiman Dietz from Hanover PA, Jenna McClanahan from Edgewater MD, Payton Piercey from Berlin MD and Sage Will from McConnelsburg PA. Each will receive $500 to be applied to their first year of College or Vocational expenses.
Taking home top awards this year included the Mayor’s Prestigious Award presented to Arie & Shelley, 1966 Plymouth, Ocean Pines MD, the Honorable Jim Mathias Thunderroad Award presented to Anthony Hessler, 1957 Chevy, Glen Burnie MD, the City Council Outstanding Award presented to Grady Chandler, 1963 VW Delmar MD, and the Police Chief’s Award presented David & Karen Ness, 1956 Chevy, Dallastown PA. Winning the Cruiser of the Year for 2025 was John Dalterio from Laurence Harnor NJ, a member of the Legendary Muscle Cars Auto Club, who is a big supporter of the event and works to get the next generation of Cruisers excited about classic cars giving out thousands of Hot Wheels to kids. Before Cruisin came to an end there were more than 500 trophies, plaques and awards presented.
We hope everyone had a great time at Cruisin and a safe trip home. We look forward to seeing you back in the fall, October 9-10-11-12, 2025 or next spring April 30-May 1-2-3, 2026 or both!
